Lakme Absolute White Intense Wet & Dry Compact - Review

Hi Girls,

Today I am reviewing the Lakme Absolute White Intense Wet & Dry Compact in the shade - 03 Golden Medium.

Price : Rs. 650 for 9 g

What Lakme Claims?

Look naturally fair and flawless through the day with this dual long wear compact with soft focus effect. Its unique formula contains Hyaluronic acid that deeply hydrates your skin restoring its natural youth and glow and Vitamin B3 that makes you look visibly fairer.

  • Last up to 16 hours.
  • Use it dry as a compact and wet as a foundation.
  • SPF 17.

My Take On The Product

Packaging :

The compact powder comes in a shiny grey metallic box with a mirror and a sponge applicator which is housed in a separate compartment in the bottom of the packaging.

Texture :

It has a soft texture, the powder is finely milled and blends easily. It gives more coverage, and its ability to control oil is not great.

Its staying power is quite good. It stayed on me for 3 - 4 hours.

It gives a nice finished look to the skin, and it is not so great for setting out foundation, it may look cakey if you don't apply it with a light hand.

It can be the best use for everyday wear - over BB creams or Tinted moisturizer. It brighten up the skin well.

The GOOD :

  • Sleek and style packaging.
  • Soft texture.
  • Contains SPF 17.
  • Has brightening effect.
  • Coverage (Sheer to medium).
  • Blends well.

The BAD :

  • Looks cakey when used wet.
  • Over price for a drugstore brand.
  • Bad for flash photography because of SPF.
  • Gets patchy when applied over heavy coverage foundation.

Happy Glitters Rating : 3/5

REVLON COLOR BURST MATTE BALM - REVIEW AND SWATCH

Hello Girls,

Today I am reviewing a matte lip balm from Revlon.

Revlon's new Color burst matte balm comes in variety of shades and I am reviewing the shade 205 - Elusive.

Price : INR 800

My Take On The Product

Packaging : Revlon color burst matte balm comes in a twister type chubby stick with a matte finish surface which has the color of the balm. So it is perfect to pick the shades we want.

Texture : The texture is buttery soft and it has a mint flavor to it, after applying on the lips you might find a tingling sensation which lasts for only few minutes.

It glides on very smoothly, you would hardly see any product being used on the bullet.

Applying more than one or two swipes can settle down in the fine lines.

Color : The color ELUSIVE is a nude shade of pink which could wash out many and stands out on warm skin tones.

What I Love :

1. Color.
2. Highly pigmented.
3. Buttery soft texture.
4. Staying power for more than 5 hours.
5. Mint smell.
6. Doesn't require sharpening.

What I Hate :

1. Settles in fine lines if applied more.
2. Price is quite high for a drugstore brand.

Happy Glitters Rating : 4.9/5

Will I Repurchase It?

God Yes :) I will :) But I would try out the other shades from this range.

Lakme Absolute Face Stylist Foundation - Review

Hey Everyone,

Today I am reviewing the Lakme Absolute Face Stylist Foundation in shade 03 - Golden Medium.

It is available in 6 different shades named Ivory Fair, Rose Fair, Golden Medium, Golden Light, Beige Honey and Almond Honey.

Price : Rs. 1200 for 39 ml.

Shelf Life : 3 years.

What Lakme Claims?

Super long wearing foundation that delivers high comfort and new skin finishes with medium to high coverage. This sensorial gel-cream texture blends perfectly to give an even and weightless skin-like coverage.

My Take On The Product :

The packaging is very sleek and compact. The foundation is housed in a matte BLACK bottle with a glossy cap. The nozzle of the bottle is perfect for squeezing out the required amount of foundation.

The foundation has a slightly THICK texture and it is little tough to blend.

It sets very QUICKLY and it is a LONG WEARING foundation. It glides on very smoothly if applied over primed or moisturized skin.
It has MEDIUM to FULL coverage, I sometime use it as a concealer :D

It covers up blemishes, pigmentation, spots, pimples etc.

It gives good natural matte finish and brightens the skin and make the face look soft and glowy.

What I Love :

1. Packaging is sturdy and travel friendly,
2. Gel texture - smooth on skin.
3. Gives natural finish.
4. Medium to full coverage.
5. Long wearing - stayed for 6 - 7 hours on my skin.
6. Photographs well.
7. Light weight formula.
8. Can be layered - doesn't look patchy.
9. Didn't oxidize on me.
10. Good quantity for its price.
11. Availability - both online and store.

What I Hate :

1. Opaque packaging - tough to see the remaining product inside.
2. Only 6 shades are available - quite difficult for darker skin beauties.
3. Dry skin girls definitely need moisturized skin before applying.
4. No SPF - But its okay, can be used with a sunscreen.
5. Price might be an issue for some.

Happy Glitters Rating : 4/5

Will I Recommend or Repurchase it?

YES, I will definitely REPURCHASE this foundation.
This is so far the best liquid foundation I have used. I RECOMMEND this foundation to everyone, if you get a perfect shade for your skin tone.

This foundation is so amazingly light weight it is like wearing no makeup at all.

My take on the Product:

It comes in 12 shades :) THUMBS UP !!!

It suit most of the Indian women and it is tough to choose shades for darker skin beauties.

The foundation comes in a glass bottle with a lid with no spatula or pump dispenser. The texture of the liquid powder is CREAMY and SOFT but when applying it feels like applying powder and the result is so PERFECT.

It is a LIGHT to MEDIUM coverage foundation building up/ or layering will result the face look heavy. Staying power is good. For me it stayed for 4 - 5 hours.

Application:

1. Shake well.
2. For best makeup result, pour just a few drops onto fingers and apply directly onto skin ( Not recommended for use with a sponge or brush).

Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick - Cruise Collection Review and Swatch

Hello Pretty Girls,

I am reviewing Revlon's Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick in the shade Cruise Collection.

Price: INR 650

What Revlon Claims?

It can stay put and moisturize your lips all at the same time. It has Aloe extracts and Shea Butter that keep lips emollient, and credits its long-wearing power to the brand's exclusive Colorstay formulation. It comes in 20 colors.

My take on the product:

Packaging is pretty straight forward, the clear cap is useful for finding out the shades easily. The lipstick has little bit of shimmer to it and it settles in to the fine lines of my lips. The texture is quite creamy and the lipstick stays for long time.

Cruise collection is peachy orange shade which is perfect for summer, it doesn't transfer and the pigmentation is quite high. Applying too much will lead the shimmers to settle on fine lines.

It stays intact without transferring onto cups and glasses, Its unique tacky consistency really improves its longevity, but it emphasizes the lip lines. For those who fancy rubbing their lips together often, this lipstick is a NO :/ it feels STICKY when you rub your lips together.

It dries out the lips and doesn't moisturize it at all, over layering of lipstick will make the lips look dry and patchy.

Here is a swatch of Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick - Cruise Collection

What I Love?

  • Staying power.
  • Transfer resistant.
  • Packaging.
  • Pigmentation (medium).
  • Beautiful shade for summer.
  • Doesn't bleed.
What I Hate?
  • Shimmers settle in to fine lines.
  • Feels Kinda Sticky on lips.
  • Turns patchy after some time.
  • Make lips look dry, need to apply lip balm underneath.
  • Makeup remover is required.

Rating: 3.5/5

Will I Buy it again?

I don't think I need to, I might try out the other shades.
